The Feast of Unleavened Bread

The Feast of Unleavened Bread, known as 'Chag HaMatzot' in Hebrew, is a 7-day festival celebrated in the evening of Passover, occurring on the 15th day of the first New Moon. The first and last days of the feast are considered Sabbath. This Feast commemorates the hasty departure of the Israelites from Mitzraim (Egypt), during which they had no time to allow their bread to rise.

During this period, all leavened bread is abstained from, while unleavened bread is consumed, symbolizing the swift removal of sin and impurity from believers' lives. It is a festival of righteousness and set-apartness, and Matzo or unleavened bread takes center stage, emphasizing the Body of Messiah, humility, and complete dependence on YHWH's provision.

Matzo also represents the affliction and pain that Yahoshea the Messiah went through at the hands of His religious compatriots, through which anyone willing to follow in His footsteps would also go through - if they are to be purified and made ready for eternal life (YeshaYahu-Isa 53:2-12). Matzo, furthermore, symbolizes a pure life, devoid of all pleasures of sin.

Torah of the Feast

Observing the Feast

. The feast is intertwined with Passover. It begins in the evening of Passover, on the 15th day of the 1st New Moon of the Abib.

. The first day of the feast (the 15th) is a Qodesh High Sabbath, and the last day of the feast (the 21st) is also a High Qodesh Sabbath; servile work is prohibited on those two days because they are High Sabbaths of YAHUWAH.

. YAHUWAH Almighty commanded that all males are to gather before Him on the 1st and the last day of the feast

. A compulsory freewill gift offering is required from all males, according to the blessing YAHUWAH has given each one.

. The Almighty commanded His people to rid themselves of all leavened food in their dwelling. Additionally, they were instructed to abstain from any food with leaven during the seven days of the feast..

. In this period, believers are encouraged to scrutinize their lives, assessing whether they are engaging in any form of wrongdoing that does not align with the will of YAHUWAH Elohim.

It's a period for families to come together, share meals, retell the Exodus story, and strengthen their faith in Elohim.
