The SEVEN COVENANTS
What is a Covenant? It is a formal agreement or legal contract between two parties. An example of a covenant is a marriage covenant, which is a legal contract between a man and a woman. In this agreement, they mutually agree to fulfill their respective roles in the marriage.
Another example of a covenant is that between a citizen and the government: where the citizen is obliged to fulfill their role as a law-abiding member of society and pay taxes. In return, the government is entrusted with protecting the civil rights of its citizens. Should a citizen deliberately violate the law, they forfeit their right to freedom and may be sentenced to imprisonment or exile until they reform and make amends for their actions, thereby earning readmission into society.
However, in this case, it is a contract between YAHUWAH and His chosen people, in which He made a promise of salvation and protection if His chosen people would abide by His commandments, which He referred to as love (*Ex 20:6 / Jh 14:23-24).
Central to the covenant is the concept of mutual obligation
YAHUWAH promises to protect and baruk (bless) His obedient followers—be they Adam, Noah, or Abraham—elevating them as His chosen people and assuming the role of Father and Elohim to them. In exchange, they commit to obeying YAHUWAH's commandments, worshipping Him and His Name exclusively, and adhering to His moral and ethical standards." (*Ex 19:5-6/ Ex 23:13).
This covenant is not only a legal contract but also serves as a relationship between the Almighty and His best creation, mankind. It represents a kodesh agreement and bond between YAHUWAH and His followers, based on trust, loyalty, and faithfulness.
Throughout the Hebrew Scriptures, the covenant is depicted as both a source of blessing and a cause of punishment. When His people, starting from Adam, remain faithful to their obligations, they experience prosperity and favor from YAHUWAH. However, when they disobey His commandments, they face adversity and exile (*Gen 3:17-24/ Deut 11:26-28).
The Covenant of YAHUWAH is synonymous throughout all generations, starting from the Garden of Eden to the end of time, due to His unchanging nature. YAHUWAH remains the same today, yesterday, and forever.
In total, there are seven Covenants, each rooted in three fundamental principles:
● The exclusive worship of YAHUWAH and His Name.
● Wholehearted obedience of His commandments.
● Separation from the world, embracing a state of set-apartness.
The first covenant established by YAHUWAH with His chosen people, known as Israel, traces back to the covenant He made with Adam.
[Note: Israel means "overcoming princes of Elohim." In Heaven, the malakhim (angels) were the first to be referred to as Israelites or overcoming princes of Elohim due to their triumph over Satan’s deception during his revolt in Heaven].
This covenant is based on Adam’s continuous obedience to YAHUWAH’s commandments. In return, Adam will secure YHWH’s guarantee to maintain his citizenship in the Garden of Eden and live forever. However, if he were to break this covenant, he would be subjected to death and would become an alien to Paradise instead of a citizen.
"And YAHUWAH Elohim commanded Adam, saying, 'Of every tree of the Garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die'" (*Gen 2:16).
The sign of this covenant: is the observation of Sabbath (* Gen 2:2-3).
However, Adam did not live up to the covenant relationship because he violated the terms of the covenant, and YAHUWAH expelled him from Paradise along with his wife, Havah (Eve).
After Adam's failure to uphold the initial covenant, prompting Elohim to expel him and his wife from the Garden of Eden, the subsequent covenant YAHUWAH Elohim established was with Noah after the flood. While the sons of Seth, Enos, and Mahahael remained faithful to the Adamic covenant, all descendants of Cain chose to follow rebellious customs, deviating from the covenant.
After the great flood, Elohim established a covenant with Noah, promising never again to destroy all life by flood. This covenant signifies the unmerited mercy and enduring relationship between the Creator and humanity, emphasizing the importance of faithfulness and obedience.
"I will establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all creatures be destroyed by the waters of a flood; there shall not be another flood to devastate the earth" (*Gen 9:11).
The sign of this covenant is: marking of rainbow in the sky (*Gen 9:12-17).
Following Noahic Covenant is the covenant YAHUWAH Elohim made with Abraham. In this covenant, YHWH also made an everlasting contract with Abraham to be His Elohim and made him a great nation, if Abraham and his descendants would walk with Him and remain blameless in obeying His commandments (*Gen 17).
"And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be Elohim to you and to your offspring after you" (*Gen 17:7).
This covenant is first established when Elohim commands Abraham to leave (set-apart from) his homeland and journey to a new land that He will show him. In return for Abraham's obedience, YAHUWAH promises to bless him and make him a great nation. This demonstrates the reciprocal nature of the covenant, where Abraham's faith and obedience are met with favor and promises.
Throughout the Scripture, the covenant with Abraham serves as a foundation for Elohim interactions with His people. It is reaffirmed and expanded upon through subsequent covenants with figure such as Moshe (Moses), culminating in the ultimate covenant through Yahoshea Hamashiach or the Messiah.
The sign of this covenant is: circumcision (*Gen 17:10-12).
The covenant between YAHUWAH and Moshe (Moses) is a pivotal event in the history of humanity. This covenant, commonly known as the Mosaic Covenant, was established when Moshe received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. It represented a kodesh agreement between YAHUWAH Elohim and the Israelites, outlining their responsibilities and the blessings and consequences that would follow based on their obedience or disobedience.
"Now therefore, if you diligently obey My voice, and guard My covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is mine, And you shall be unto Me a kingdom of kohanim (priests), and a set-apart nation. These are the words which you shall speak unto the children of Israel" (*Exodus 19:5-6)
At the heart of this covenant were the Ten Commandments, which provided a moral and ethical framework for the Israelites to live by. These commandments covered various aspects of life, including the exclusive worship of YAHUWAH, treatment of others, and personal conduct. By following these commandments, the Israelites would demonstrate their faithfulness and love to YAHUWAH Elohim and maintain their covenant relationship with Him.
Central to the covenant was the promise of blessings for obedience and the threat of curses for disobedience. If the Israelites remained faithful to Elohim and followed His commandments, they would experience His protection, provision, and prosperity. However, if they turned away from Elohim and broke the covenant, they would face judgment and punishment (*Gen 11:25-28/ Deut 12:28-32).
The sign of this covenant is: Sabbath, which pointed to the promise of the eternal rest that man would have entered had Adam obeyed the covenant between Elohim and him (*Exodus 31:13).
The first coming of the Messiah mark the fulfillment of the Scripture and the renewal of the Mosaic Covenant, which is the renewal of Abrahamic Covenant, which is the renewal of Noahic Covenant, which is the renewal of Adamic Covenant; which was the first Covenant YAHUWAH Elohim made with His elects.
The renewed Messianic covenant symbolizes a profound shift in the relationship between YAHUWAH and His true followers, which are those who receive the Messiah (*Jh 1:11-13). This covenant is the modification or the amendment of the existing Covenants (*Matt 5:17-48/ Matt 26:28).
The covenant established with Moshe on Mount Sinai, known as the Mosaic Covenant, was characterized by the Torah (instructions), laws and rituals intended to guide the chosen Israelites in their obedience to Elohim and relationship with Him. However, the Scripture is incomplete without the appearance of the Messiah. For it points to the coming of the Messiah, who serves as both the High Kohen and the ultimate perfection and fulfillment of the Scripture (*Deut 18:17-18/ Luke 4:21).
"Then He (the Messiah) took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them (His disciples), saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 For this is My blood of the renew covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29 But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in MyFather’s Kingdom” (*Matt 26:27-29).
The Messianic covenant is marked by unmerited favor, forgiveness, and reconciliation between Elohim and the elect, and their adoption to sons of Elohim (*Jh 1:11-12), And that reconciliation could only be achieved through the receiving of the Name of Yahoshea Hamashiach , repentance and perfect submission and obedience to Elohim’s commandments (*Jh 14:15-27/ Hebrews 5:7-9/ Matt 5:48).
The sign of this covenant is: water immersion through the Name of Yahoshea Hamashiach (*Jh 3:11-17/ Mark 16:15-16).
This covenant is the future contract which will occur at the second coming of Yahoshea Hamashiach, whereby the elects who overcame the deception of this world and the lies of Satan, will be whisk off by the malakhim (angels) from all four corners of the earth, with a great sound of the trumpet and caught up with their Master and Savior Yahoshea (*MatitYahu 24:29-40).
On that day, they will cast their crowns at the feet of the Messiah to be their King for 1000-year reign in the third heaven, where the Garden of Eden is resided. They will be counted worthy to participate in the first resurrection (*Rev 3:11/ Rev 20:4-8).
"8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept My Word and have not denied My Name (*Jh 1:1-12). 9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan (Babylon religions), who claim to be Yahudim though they are not, but are liars—I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you (Malachi 3:16-18). 10 Since you have kept My command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. 11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. 12 The one who is overcome I will make a pillar in the temple of My Elohim. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the Name of My Elohim and the name of the City of My Elohim, the Renew Yahusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from My Elohim; and I will also write on them My renewed Name (*Rev 3:8-12).
According to creation time-table, six days work should be done, but on the 7th day, shall be Sabbath of rest (Gen 2:1-3). This 1000-year Sabbatical celebration will occur in the 6000 years of creation, which is 6 eternal day. For a 1000 years is equal to one day in eternity.
Today, we are almost at 6000th year of creation and the return of the Messiah is imminent. He will return to take His elects to Paradise for the celebration of 1000 years of Sabbatical in Paradise. During that time, Satan will be bound, and peace will prevails, given the earth 1000 years of its sabbath rest. Those time will usher in the beginning of the New World Order- of one religion and global one currency on earth.
When the 1000-year sabbatical is ended, Satan will be released from prison to mislead the entire earth for a short period and would to lead them to war against the newly redeemed elects living in Jerusalem in those days, in battle called the war of Armageddon (*Rev 20:1-15). Satan and the rest of Gentile-nations will be defeated; after judgement day, they will be cast into the lake of fire, at the earth's 7000 years of existence (7 eternal days).
For the current oceans of the earth will be united and turned into lake of fire- there would be the new eternal habitation of unrepented humanity. Whereas, all the lands of the earth will be united as one, and in the middle of it, will descend the Garden of Eden, renamed to Renewed Yahusalem- the eternal home of the 144,000 elects and malakhim (angels).
The Sabbatical Covenant represents the culmination of Elohim’s redemptive plan for His elects, bringing an end to their suffering and ushering in a new era of peace, righteousness and the first return of the righteous into Paradise since Adam left, which resides in the third Heaven (*Matt 24:30-31/ 2 Corinth 12:2-4).
The sign of this covenant is: calling upon the Name of YAHUWAH, which He has given to His Son Yahoshea Hamashiach (*Act 2:17-21).
The covenant of the Seal or Mark of the Name of YAHUWAH signifies the final covenant between Elohim and His 144,000 elect, redeemed from the earth from the time of Adam to the end. Central to this seventh covenant is the concept of a final solution and completion to human fallibility and salvation, ultimately leading to eternal life in everlasting communion with Elohim.
“Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our Elohim.” 4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel" (*Rev 7:3-4).
Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his Name and his Father’s Name written on their foreheads (*Rev 14:1).
The covenantal framework of salvation can be traced back to 6000 years of human history. Prior to the coming of the Messiah, salvation was attainable only by renouncing disobedience to YHWH's commandments of the Gentiles, and committing to live by YHWH's covenant, which involved complete obedience to His commandments and the exclusive worship of His Name.
Upon the arrival of the Messiah, who embodied both the Name and the Word of YHWH, as well as the Blood of the covenant (*Deut 18:18-19/ Jh 12:44-50/ Jh 1:1), thus, making obtaining salvation exclusively through Him because YHWH has placed His authority on Him, the Messiah (*Matt 28:18). Through His message, death, and resurrection, He offered humanity the opportunity to be reconciled with their Maker and receive the gift of salvation. Whoever rejected Messiah's Name or His message, rejected YHWH and His covenant as well (*Acts 4:10-12/ 1 Jh 2:22-23/ Jh 5:38-47).
Coming to this final covenant between Elohim and all His elects, which are those who ultimately overcame Satan's web of lies and deception, which started from the Garden of Eden (*Gen 3:1-5). And his lies are encapsulated in his tools, such as religions, culture and the system of this world, which he uses to spiritually enslaved humanity.
This seventh covenant represents the crown of all the covenants. For through it, all the elects will obtain the reward of their faithfulness, which is 'The everlasting Seal of the Name of YHWH, boldly written in their foreheads (*Rev 14:1/ Rev 7:4/ Eze 9:3-6/ Rev 22:4).
The seal of the Name of YHWH and salvation represents the mark of divine approval and acceptance, and inclusion into the Family of YHWH and their inheritance of the Eternal City (*Rev 21).
Following the judgment day and the expelling of the rebellious mankind who in their lifetime, rejected the Name of YHWH and live outside His commandments; they will forever expelled from the Face of YHWH into the abyss of hell, and this covenant will be established, in which the Seal of salvation, is made available to all the obedient elects, who overcame Satan's lies, the world's system and customs (*Deut 12:29-31/ Deut 18:9-13/ Jer 10:1-4/ James 4:4-4). His Name will serve as everlasting mark of identity of overcame sons of YHWH.
“Elohim's Tabernacle is now among the people, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and Elohim Himself will be with them and be their Elohim. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" (*Rev 21:3-4).
"They will see His Face, and His Name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for YAHUWAH Elohim will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever (*Rev 22:4-5).
But to the rebellious Elohim will covenant them with this: But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death” (*Rev 21:8).
The concept of the seal carries several layers of meaning throughout the history. In ancient times, a seal was used to authenticate documents, indicating ownership, authority, or approval. Similarly, the Seal of Salvation signifies YHWH's ownership of His people, His authority over their lives, and His approval of them as recipients of His mercy and redemption.
Lastly, the covenant is not a unilateral contract imposed by YAHUWAH Elohim upon His elects but rather a mutual agreement based on love, mercy, and faithfulness. It requires active participation and commitment from both parties— Elohim and the elects. While YAHUWAH initiates the covenant to establish a relationship with adherents and offers the gift of salvation freely, adherents are called to respond with faith, obedience, and gratitude.
